Solid white oak finished with hardwax oil, a wool felt strip on the arm, and a steel weight set into the bottom of the base. That hidden weight is what keeps the stand stable.
Care
Wipe down and re-oil once a year. The felt strip is removable and can be replaced if it compresses over time.
